Our Hardwoods

At Raleo®, we use only the finest quality cultured tropical hardwoods, planted and grown for us by Tropical American Tree Farms. We achieve our uniquely beautiful furnishings and Surfaces by selecting both the exquisite species of tropical hardwood, and the age at which the hardwoods are harvested. Young teak for example, from trees between 7 and 9 years old displays a previously unknown combination of beautiful grain and a unique iridescence or depth not found in teak harvested from older trees. We know of no other furnishings company in the world making that unique distinction and selection.

We often combine different species in a single furnishing or Surface, including such well known varieties as Teak, Mahogany and Purpleheart, and rare species such as Trebol, Wild Tambran and Madero Negro - all cultured and grown for us by Tropical American Tree Farms.

By only using hardwoods that have been carefully and lovingly planted and grown for harvest, Raleo® is not only helping to protect the world's rarest exotic hardwood species but also working to slow tropical deforestation by reducing the pressure on the world's remaining tropical rainforests. Tropical American Tree Farms, through years of ecologically sustainable hardwood farming, is producing exquisite cultured tropical hardwoods and protecting endangered rainforest habitats.
